Tum Mile- arth with no worth

Written by: Ankur Tewari
MUSIC_DIRECTOR: Pritam Chakraborty
Producer: Mukesh Bhatt Director: Kunal Deshmukh
Cast:-
Emraan Hashmi,
Soha Ali Khan

'Tum Mile' a romantic flick directed by "JANNAT" fame 'Kunal Deshmukh' and music is scored by 'Pritam'

'Tum Mile' star casts Emraan Hasmi, Soha Ali Khan and will be hitting the screens on November 13th 2009

Emraan & Soha are trying their luck with 'Tum Mile' to set a new record at the box office. Sound track of 'Tum Mile' has already created weaves among the viewers.

Emraan Hashmi plays the role of 'Ali Taha' and Soha Ali Khan plays the role of 'Sanjana' who happens to be the ex-lovers and they meet again on a stormy night after six years, who has been separated as their relationship didn`t work out.

Circumstances force both of them to be under one roof, as Mumbai reels under turmoil in its darkest hours.

Tum Mile is a journey to the past and present life of two ex-lovers. The movie captures the ex-lovers changing personalities, attitudes and love.

Till intermission the narration keeps moving into the past and present lives of the couple and along with that also tries to establish the base for the Flood sequences. But the excessive emphasis on the romance part fails to create the required curiosity level, which is a must for a disaster movie. The strong build-up leading towards the watery climax is simply missing.
The movie has a good romantic story going on with a few good scenes and dialogues coming at regular intervals. Both Emraan & Soha have given good performances as required by an intense love story. They emote and relate well on screen. But Emraan now has to move on to some completely different roles in his career. He looks like doing the different & improvised versions of his own lover boy characters from his previous movies. Soha on the other hand gives a mature performance as a true lover caught between the choice of her career and love. Mantra, as Emraan’s friend makes a good impact throughout and Sachin Khedekar is hardly there for only one scene.
Musically, the soundtrack again has some good songs from the ever consistent Pritam. Though not as compelling and rich in lyrics, as his other recent hits, but still they sound good while watching the movie. However as usual, not all songs were needed in the script, which also needed crispier editing. Cinematography, Graphics and Art direction is fine, but nothing path breaking.

Acid Factory -A high class edge of the seat thriller

Music - Bappa Lahiri, Manasi Scott, Gourav Dasgupta, Ranjit Barot, Shamir Tandon
Lyrics - Virag Mishra, Manasi Scott, Amitabh Bhattacharya
Action Director - Tinnu Verma
Cinematographer - Sahil Kapoor
Produced by Sanjay Gupta
Directed by Suparn Verma

*Fardeen Khan, Dia Mirza, Irrfan Khan, Manoj Bajpai, Dino Morea, Aftab Shivdasani, Danny Denzongpa

Acid Factory is some real action filmed in South Africa with cars blowing up and trucks all over the sublime Cape Town supported with breathtaking cinematography on land, sea and air.

Mark Twain said ' everyone is a moon and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody.'

A person’s memory is the source of all emotions. It is also the source of his guilt.
What if a killer would wake up one day with his memory erased?
Would his crimes cease to exist?
Faltering memory continually alters the constancy of truth. Short term memory loss denies you of an identity throwing you into an abyss of excruciating agony.

Acid Factory is about a group of characters whose sense of past has vanished in a haze of coma like sleep they have woken up from only to discover that reality could be a figment of their imagination.

Romeo (Fardeen Khan) wakes up in a deserted factory without any clue of how he got there and even about who he is. He has absolutely no memory and so is the case with several others who are captives in this secluded place.
The others Aftab Shivdasani, Dino Morea, Manoj Bajpayee and Danny Denzongpa wake up and they all have amnesia too. On probing around, they come to know that some of them have been shot who it is … each one of them fail to comprehend. Then they find out the sixth person Max (Diya Mirza) who is in the same condition as they are.

Eventually it is discovered that all of them have lost their memory due to the gas leak from a container and they are captives in the Acid Factory.

Their sense of right or wrong is heightened by this state of complete distrust and self righteousness. Now begins a morality play on the inside and a cat and mouse chase on the outside.

Danny Dengzongpa is stylish in his role, and Manoj Bajpai gets a complete makeover. Dino Morea and Aftab Shivdasani thankfully are natural. Fardeen Khan gives us glimpses of the style and grace of Feroze Khan.

The cool and sexy Dia Mirza, makes a solid impact, yet it is on her entry that she goes over the top. Irrfan Khan is chilling in portrayal of the negative character.
Among the few songs, one of them is by Manasi Scott who has written the lyrics, composed, sung and even enacted her song on screen.

It is an edgy and gritty cinema with grey characters. Here is an action thriller with a screenplay that blends seamlessly into past and then in present and then past… Acid Factory has sharp editing, cutting back and forth with sophisticated action scenes and moments which leaves the viewer breathless.

Rating: ***

‘Love Aaj Kal’ marks the birth of production house Illuminati Films, owned by Saif Ali Khan and partner Dinesh Vijan. Sunil Lilla is the co-producer.

'Love Aaj Kal' as the name suggests is a story of two couples. Jab We Met fame director Imtiyaz Ali wan t to explaine that: Is love today different from what it was in the past when lovers like Laila-Majnu or Romeo-Juliet perished in each other’s arms? Today, in the age of online romance and one-night stands, many would say love is just a whirlwind. But no! ‘Love Aaj Kal’ will have you believe that certain things don’t change with the passage of time.

Jai (Saif Ali Khan ) and Meera(Deepika Padukone) is a modern-day couple in London. They are very happy together but do not believe in tying each other down. So when life pulls them in different directions, they decide to go with the flow. “These Heer-Ranjha, Romeo-Juliet type janam janam ka saath type couples exist only in story books”, Jai says. In the real life, we have to be practical. Love Kal Delhi, Calcutta - 1965. Veer Singh is struck by the thunderbolt when he sees Harleen for the first time. Soon after, he stands under a tree and swears that “is janam mein aur har janam mein… yehi meri votti banegi – Harleen Kaur.” He travels a thousand kilometers by train to stand under her balcony only to have a glimpse of her face. And yet not speak a word with her. Love Aaj Kal Veer does not understand how Jai can treat matters of the heart without passion, like a financial transaction. Jai does not understand how Veer Singh ( Rahul Khanna) could have been so naïve and silly about Harleen (Simran) in the days of his youth. But as both stories unfold, we realize that the process of relationship might be different in different eras, but the experience of being in love remains the same. So there is the frolic and despair of modern living. The liberation and confusion. And there is the past – the times of innocence and compulsion. And there is distance, and the fondness that increases with distance. Gaps widen between two people, but bridges keep growing too.

The first half does ramble a bit and takes time to build up into a riveting second half. But the alluring performances by the lead pair do cover up for the langorous bits. Deepika looks gorgeous and her wardrobe rocks, though the chemistry between Saif and Deepika is weak.Deepika is definitive and strong as Meera, the modern girl who has an individuality of her own. But it is Saif who renders so many shades to his character to make it seem so very real: confident, confused, careerist, homebody, fancy-free, foolishly in love. The movie also stars Rishi Kapoor, who is is spontaneous as the romantic Sardar. Watch out for his surprise in the climax. Neetu Singh and Rahul Khanna in significant roles. There’s also a cameo by a British model named Florence.
This film wastes little time in the boy meets girl part and is quick to get to the point. But the point could have been made in under two hours and ten minuts.
'Love Aaj Kal' it reminds viewers about 'Dilwaale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' The music of the movie is so-so good and the songs apt to the situation. But too many film formulas rolled into one makes 'Love Aaj Kal' a Cultural Cocktail instead of a Cult.At the watching movie many films name runs in viewers mind.It is fact that Imtiyaz disappointing his fans.

Luck is an action thriller with a starry male line-up with each of the actors flaunting a single, distinct style throughout the film.Mafia king pin Kareem Musa (Sanjay Dutt ), who runs a betting syndicate. Horseracing, cricket and satta are not for him. He wants to revolutionize the betting industry and has millions of dollars riding on humans who are high on luck. Here, the risk is loss of life. Tamang Thapa (Danny) assembles for him in South Africa, 20 participants handpicked from across the globe who have a proven record of extreme luck. Betters across the globe put their money on them through Musa’s syndicate. Among them the highest bet is always placed on (Ram Mehra) Imran Khan.

To cut back to Imran's story, his father did a Harshad Mehta and committed suicide. He is left with a huge Rs 20 crore debt to pay off and his mother is not even aware of it! Talk about Luck!! As luck would have it, he meets Danny Denzongpa ,who is Moosa's right hand man. He is on the lookout for those with luck. Danny promises him Rs 20 crore for 20 days of Fear Factor type of work in South Africa. As luck would have it, he comes out alive! There is also Retd Colonel Veer Pratap Singh (Mithun Chakraborty ) along with Raghav (Ravi Kissen) and (Angela) Shruti Haasan on who bets are placed. Mithun is there because he needs Rs 25 lakhs for his wife's treatment; Ravi's luck saves him from the noose. He is a serial killer set free because according to the law, if a criminal does not die while being hanged, he has to be set free. His rope gives way. Super luck. And Shruti is there to take revenge for her twin sister who commits suicide. She thinks Sanjay Dutt is the one responsible for her death. Shruti, who has her own personal agenda, Retd. Col Singh (Mithun) who desperately needs money for his wife’s operation, Shortcut (Chitrashi Rawat) a Pakistani camel racer girl who dreams of buying a Lexus with the prize money. The first half of the film is merely devoted to character introductions though none are convincingly established. The remaining film is just a series of death-defying games which the players are made to play, where a rape attempt to reach a speeding climax.

Imran became popular right after his hit debut 'Jaane Tu Ya jaane Na', but his last film "Kidnap" didn't do him much good. Now Bollywood's latest heartthrob Imran Khan is hoping to hit the bull's eye with the edge-of-the-seat thriller "Luck",Actor Kamal Hssan and Sarika's daughter Debutant Shruthi Hassan oozes the confidence of a star and does justice to her character for her first movie.Shruti Haasan has screen presence and is star material, but she has to work on her dialogue delivery.
Sanjay Dutt’s screen presence in the film is equivalent to Akshay Kumar’s contribution to Fear Factor minus his stunts. Danny is better amongst others but his character is short-lived in the second half. Mithun Chakraborty is extremely impressive. Ravi Kissen is terrific. Chitrashi Rawat is good. Snita Mahey playing Dutt’s team member is super hot. They are trying to find their luck. Luck begins with an exciting opening sequence, that gets heart in the mouth watching a blindfolded.Sanjay Dutt cross the multiple railway lines with trains running around in fast speedThis opening and ending action sequences by Allan Amin are convincingly choreographed but the intermediate stunts appear too artificial.

The script of the film relies too much on coincidental luck. "Kaal"' fame Director Soham Shah rubs too hard on luck but at the same time stresses on the adage that ‘the only thing certain about luck is it’s going to change’. On that thought here’s wishing him better luck next time!

Luck is a feast for adrenaline pumping edge of the seat cinema lovers. The movie has one of the slickest action thrillers to hit Indian screens. Action fans should not miss it.Music lovers will sing the songs“Mujhe Paiso Ki Nahi, Tujh Jaiso Ki Zaroorat Hai” or “Main Khareedta Nahi, Sirf Bhaade Par Leta Hoon”.

Starring: Akshaye Khanna, Arshad Warsi, Amrita Rao, Simi Garewal, Ali Asgar, Haider Ali, Siddharth Randeria, Chunky Pandey, Sanjay Dutt & Anil Kapoor
Rating: * *

There is no short cut to success is what this movie intends to convey taking a very long route.

Producer Anil Kapoor attempts to take a shortcut by choosing to remake a Malayalam film Udayananu Tharam (Mohanlal, Sreenivasan) which in turn is a spin-off on the Hollywood flick Bowfinger (Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy).

The story revolves around two con artists Shekar(Akshay Khanna) and Raju (Arshad Warsi) in the media, Both are friends, who are struggling to make it big in the Bollywood. One is a struggling assistant director and the other a struggling actor. A non-actor Arshad Warsi turns an overnight superstar by stealing the script of an assistant director Akshay Khanna.
The assistant director gets married to superstar Mansi (Amrita Rao) and his chawl neighbours gift him a palatial flat. The graph goes flat as the story turns towards matrimonial disharmony with Mansi soon giving up on her chauvinistic husband , where Akshay starts a film with superstar King Kumar (Arshad Warsi) who continues to remain a non-actor. What follows is nonsense and noise 'produced' by a troupe of Gujarati stage actors who believe in getting theatrical and loud at every opportunity they get to mouth a line.Akshaye Khanna's writer's block appears more as if he's stuck up in solving some math numerical. Every time he gets an ending to his story, he screams out saying ' I got my climax', which sounds suggestive with cheesy connotations. The derived screenplay is patchy and its shows as writer Neeraj Vora struggles to script weak characters and weaker conflicts. As a Director Neeraj Vora tries too hard to make laugh with his regular brand of sad jokes which fall flat.Music director Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy try too hard to come up with peppy tunes which only sound lousy.
Amrita gets a chance to change into glamorous outfits. She tries too hard to look hot but lacks oomph in every possible angle. Arshad Warsi doesn't have to try too hard to look like a non-actor though he is good in patches. Akshay Khanna believes screaming and shouting accounts to performing. He is let down by a very poor script. Chunky Pandey tries too hard to play an acting teacher but needs lessons himself. Siddharth Randheria tries too hard to pass off as a cheap substitute for Paresh Rawal but is unbearably annoying. Ali Asgar tries too hard to play Amrita Rao's brother but appears more like her stalker.
Over all this is a Bollywood type comedy movie, where is cheap entertainment for public.

Kambakkht Ishq - paisa vasool movie

Writter:

Sabbir Khan, Ishita Mohitra, Anvita Dutt Guptan

Choreographer: Vaibhavi Merchant

Cinematography: Vikas Sivaraman

Music : Au Malik

Producer: Sajid Nadiyadwala

Director: Sabbir Khan

Cast: Kareena Kapoor (Simrita Rai )
Akshay Kumar ( Viraj ), Aftab Shivdashani, (Lucky ),
Amrita Arora (Kamini ), Vindu Dara Singh (Tiger), Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards, Brando Routh

Rating : ***

Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar form a pair that has given several hits before. If Kambakkht Ishq does well, the producer can well thank the cast and the recent strike that has left the audience desperate for a star-studded film. You remember the tagline this film so proudly displays - `that women are good for only two things’? Well, this film is good for only one – the trash bin.

Viraj (Akshay) is a Hollywood stunt man who doesn’t believe in marriage and lives by the belief that women are good for only two things. When he comes to know that his younger brother Lucky (Aftab) is getting married, he rushes to break it off. At the same time the bride, Kamini’s (Amrita) best friend Simrita (Kareena) too rushes in dissuading her from getting married to a ‘second hand’ person aka a stuntman. But it is too late as the couple has already made up their mind. But not before a war of words ensues between the chauvinist Viraj and snooty Simrita. The reason why Simrita (who by the way is a medical student cum part time model) hates men is the examples she has seen in her own family. She therefore believes men are only interested in taking women into their beds and nothing else. But then fate keeps Viraj and Simrita bumping more into each other and their each meeting only doubling up their hate for each other. Meanwhile, Simrita’s stubbornness leads Lucky and Kamini to the brink of divorce. While Viraj tries to stop this divorce from taking place Simrita tries her best to ensure it takes place. Things get more complicated when during Viraj’s operation, Simrita accidentally leaves her watch inside his stomach. What it all leads to forms the rest of the plot.

Writer-director Sabir Khan’s execution is devoid of subtlety. The first scene establishing Hollywood is so obvious – bikini-clad women, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, stock shots of Angelina Jolie from the Oscars. There are portions where the film turns crude – the scene where Viraj’s Man Friday (Vindu Dara Singh, unbearable) fantasizes about women in their underwear, or the shot where a speeding car lifts a woman’s skirt to reveal her innerwear. For more such “comedy”, you have Javed Jaffrey and Boman Irani, both utterly wasted.

Akshay brings nothing new to a role that he has enacted a hundred times before. Still, his performance is earnest. Kareena Kapoor is the only sparkler in the entire film – she looks like a trillion bucks and gives a spirited performance.

It’s been shot in Hollywood, there’s a scene in Kodak Theater (the Oscars venue), and Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh make appearances. But to hell with such gimmicks when sitting through the film is such torture.

The heroine and hero refer to each other as ‘dog’ and ‘bitch’ throughout. She adds that men have no IQ. Director Sabbir Khan either believes the same for his audience or is the species of men that the heroine is referring to. That’s because he treats the film with such childish cheekiness that you are amazed by the audacity with which the film offends the idea of entertainment.

The story is good but not logicall which is although not required at the time of fun Akshay asusuall superb and proved himself to be the King of the King's Kareena look's sexy in this film this is all about comedy with a "TADKA" of romance in this ...Akki proved him self why is the only khiladi in industry by doing those dengerous stunts. The dubble meeaning dialogues are only for first benchers, This is a must watch movie full paisa vasool.

New York - Kill Three Hours

Banner: Yash Raj Films

Lyricist: Sandeep Srivastava & Junaid Wasi

Music Director: Pritam Chakraborty, Pankaj Awasthi & Julius Packiam

Producer: Aditya Chopra &Yash Chopra

Director: Kabir Khan

Star Cast: John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Irfaan Khan

Rating: * *

New York" is a contemporary story of friendship set against the larger than life backdrop of a city often described as the centre of the world.b The first half of 'New York' is simply amazing and keeps you on the edge, constantly guessing what is going to happen in the very next scene. By the time interval comes, you are looking at a big shocker and eagerly wait for the few minutes of break to be over soon.

Coming down to the second half of the movie, it was a bit disappointing, especially after the big revelation. The pace is quite slow, as compared to the first half, and even some predictability creeps in. Still, it is not without its fair share of engrossing scenes. Especially the torture scenes seem to send a shiver down your spine. The wry humor in the movie is just perfect, neither becoming slapstick, nor getting mislaid. As for the climax, it was not only unpredictable, but a little melodramatic (after all, it is a Bollywood film!). However, it has been executed to perfection.
