Luck is an action thriller with a starry male line-up with each of the actors flaunting a single, distinct style throughout the film.Mafia king pin Kareem Musa (Sanjay Dutt ), who runs a betting syndicate. Horseracing, cricket and satta are not for him. He wants to revolutionize the betting industry and has millions of dollars riding on humans who are high on luck. Here, the risk is loss of life. Tamang Thapa (Danny) assembles for him in South Africa, 20 participants handpicked from across the globe who have a proven record of extreme luck. Betters across the globe put their money on them through Musa’s syndicate. Among them the highest bet is always placed on (Ram Mehra) Imran Khan.

To cut back to Imran's story, his father did a Harshad Mehta and committed suicide. He is left with a huge Rs 20 crore debt to pay off and his mother is not even aware of it! Talk about Luck!! As luck would have it, he meets Danny Denzongpa ,who is Moosa's right hand man. He is on the lookout for those with luck. Danny promises him Rs 20 crore for 20 days of Fear Factor type of work in South Africa. As luck would have it, he comes out alive! There is also Retd Colonel Veer Pratap Singh (Mithun Chakraborty ) along with Raghav (Ravi Kissen) and (Angela) Shruti Haasan on who bets are placed. Mithun is there because he needs Rs 25 lakhs for his wife's treatment; Ravi's luck saves him from the noose. He is a serial killer set free because according to the law, if a criminal does not die while being hanged, he has to be set free. His rope gives way. Super luck. And Shruti is there to take revenge for her twin sister who commits suicide. She thinks Sanjay Dutt is the one responsible for her death. Shruti, who has her own personal agenda, Retd. Col Singh (Mithun) who desperately needs money for his wife’s operation, Shortcut (Chitrashi Rawat) a Pakistani camel racer girl who dreams of buying a Lexus with the prize money. The first half of the film is merely devoted to character introductions though none are convincingly established. The remaining film is just a series of death-defying games which the players are made to play, where a rape attempt to reach a speeding climax.

Imran became popular right after his hit debut 'Jaane Tu Ya jaane Na', but his last film "Kidnap" didn't do him much good. Now Bollywood's latest heartthrob Imran Khan is hoping to hit the bull's eye with the edge-of-the-seat thriller "Luck",Actor Kamal Hssan and Sarika's daughter Debutant Shruthi Hassan oozes the confidence of a star and does justice to her character for her first movie.Shruti Haasan has screen presence and is star material, but she has to work on her dialogue delivery.
Sanjay Dutt’s screen presence in the film is equivalent to Akshay Kumar’s contribution to Fear Factor minus his stunts. Danny is better amongst others but his character is short-lived in the second half. Mithun Chakraborty is extremely impressive. Ravi Kissen is terrific. Chitrashi Rawat is good. Snita Mahey playing Dutt’s team member is super hot. They are trying to find their luck. Luck begins with an exciting opening sequence, that gets heart in the mouth watching a blindfolded.Sanjay Dutt cross the multiple railway lines with trains running around in fast speedThis opening and ending action sequences by Allan Amin are convincingly choreographed but the intermediate stunts appear too artificial.

The script of the film relies too much on coincidental luck. "Kaal"' fame Director Soham Shah rubs too hard on luck but at the same time stresses on the adage that ‘the only thing certain about luck is it’s going to change’. On that thought here’s wishing him better luck next time!

Luck is a feast for adrenaline pumping edge of the seat cinema lovers. The movie has one of the slickest action thrillers to hit Indian screens. Action fans should not miss it.Music lovers will sing the songs“Mujhe Paiso Ki Nahi, Tujh Jaiso Ki Zaroorat Hai” or “Main Khareedta Nahi, Sirf Bhaade Par Leta Hoon”.
