Striker is a Hindi action-drama film written, directed and produced by Chandan Arora.
‘Striker’ is another Bollywood tale of an innocent man being driven into the puddle of money-making.The film is based on true-life accounts.Strykar is the story of a carrom player who grows up on the fringes of a criminal existence but does not succumb to it.
Sidharth starrer Strikar is set in a Bombay (now Mumbai) in the mid ’80s,In Striker Sidharth plays a role named Suryakant Sarang who born into a poor family and grows up with minimum luxuries. Suriya couldn’t attend school because of his poor health – that is when his elder brother introduces him to carrom. Surya wins the Junior Carrom Championship at the age of 12 but is not enough to him on fire for the sport burning through adolescence.
Hopes for a job in Dubai replace the passion for carrom, as Suriya grows into a young man. Overseas employment agency dupes Suriya loses all his hard earned money he had saved for going to Dubai. But life has ways of testing even the strong. Striker is the story of a friendship, life in the city of dreams in the 80’s, a story of a game that is most common but non-existent. Striker storyline of a Carrom player who grows up on the fringes of a criminal existence but does not succumb to it Surya reaches Mumbai after his out of town trip and finds himself in an environment of communal riot. Surya is stopped by the police official, Faroukh (Anupam Kher). He gets trapped in the course of movie and eventually loses all the money that he had collected to go to Dubai. It is at this stage that he is re-introduced to carom but this time it is not just a game. He plays carom for gambling and stands face to face with the dreadful gangster, Jaleel (Aditya Pancholi) whom he hates since his childhood. He had always tried to keep away from Jaleel and his wickedness but ultimately finds himself standing in front of him.

The movie is made with the best of intentions and with a sensible theme. Dialogues are crisp and powerful. Like any other Bollywood movie, ‘Striker’ too has a love plot which never finds scope to grow fully. Noorie (Nicolette Bird), the love life of Surya gives a fresh impact to the audience. Friendship shared between Surya and Zaid (Ankur Vikal) is commendable and forms one of the main veins of the story.















Producer-director Chandan Arora makes a fruitful attempt in story
telling technique and manages to keep the audience watching. However, at times the plot weakens and tends to confuse the audience with the introduction of sub-plots. Songs are pleasant to ear and contributes to the progress of the movie.Siddharth poses a natural acting and shows his capability to shoulder a Bollywood movie on his shoulder. His work is highly appreciable and succeeds in maintaining the ‘Rang De Basanti’ magic. Nicolette Bird is pretty but finds no chance to show her acting skill. Anupam Kher and Aditya Pancholi show themselves to be experienced actors. Ankur Vikal, Anup Soni, Seema Biswas and Padmapriya suit their role perfectly.
The movie fails to leave an unforgettable impact and the movie will be acceptable only to limited audience, leave alone the weak hearts.

Pyaar Impossible is said to be inspired by the hit British film Notting Hill, starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant in lead roles. In Ankert University, California, Alisha (Priyanka Chopra) is the name of that dream everyone wished came true. The most beautiful girl on campus, she makes hearts flutter like leaves in the wind. The free spirit that she is, doing what she likes, she sometimes goes overboard with it. A snap of her fingers and a line of boys, waiting on her every whim. Everybody Loves Alisha!

Abhay has quietly loved Alisha all his life. One day he musters up enough courage to go and express his true feelings to her and realizes that it is never gonna happen. He comes to terms with the fact that Alisha is a Princess and he is just a Geek. That is when their ways eventually part. Later, their paths cross again, as Abhay is busy trying to launch his career. Fate again brings him face to face with the woman of his dreams, Alisha.Years later, after college, when life has taught Alisha some lessons and made her more mature. But somewhere behind that maturity she is the same bumbling, crazy girl she used to be, with the same free spirit. And Abhay is trying to launch his career. It is no surprise then that Abhay (Uday Chopra) loves her too. More than his computer programs and MAC stores he thinks of Alisha. Who is Abhay? He has two loves in his life, his first is Alisha and the second, computers. We meet him first in University where he falls for Alisha, knowing that there can never be anything between them.Abhay is a nerdy, awkward, socially challenged, bespectacled geek of the college who is so far removed from her world that she doesn’t even know that people like him actually exist. One day this geeky-looking Abhay even saves her from drowning, but circumstances keep him from seeing her again. This is a love story of impossible proportions, how can a man like Abhay ever hope to be with a woman like Alisha, and therein lies the story...

Alisa doesn't recognize Abhay, and mistakes him as the new sitter she was expecting. Abhay takes up the job with an opportunity to get to know her better and win over her as well as confront the man who stole his software. Abhay is the kind of person who has no confidence in himself and is a shy and reticent person yet at the same time he is so full of love for Alisha that he is willing to live the rest of his life loving a person who he knows he will never be with.Priyanka looks cute in a stunning new hair cut and Uday as the geek is okay. C-KCOMPANY: A Madness of Ekta Kapoor

In this movie Akshay Kumar (Tusshar Kapoor) is a crime show anchor on a news channel who aspires to elope with don Dattu Satellite’s (Mithun Chakravarthy) sister (Riama Sen) to Dubai. Joshi (Anupam Kher) is a retired accountant whose affluent son treats him like a liability. Lambodar (Rajpal Yadav) is handicapped by his height (or the lack of it) and ridiculed by his wife and son.

Drenched in despair, the trio makes a hoax call to Joshi’s son and ask for extortion money posing as a fictitious underworld gang called C Kkompany . Word spreads about this fabricated gang and soon it becomes the talk of the town. The trio uses the newly and accidentally acquired fame of C Kkompany to their benefit and start helping the common man through their con call warnings. Meanwhile Dattu faces a business threat with the arrival of his rival in underworld.

The major aspect where C Kkompany scores is that it’s a credible comedy which doesn’t take the logic-less path. Writer-director Sachin Yardi comes up with an interesting premise and handles it effectively to an extent. He faintly ignites a social revolution with the glorification of C Kkompany as a modern day Robin Hood gang but isn’t able to capitalize it to Gandhigiri extents like Munnabhai attempted.

Another highlight of the humour is the audacity of producer Ekta Kapoor to laugh on herself and her Balaji soaps that make up for some genuinely funny gags. Anyone who hates her sloppy soaps would love this film for the unapologetic take-off on the clichés that those serials resort to. Yardi exploits all our daily drawing room allegations on Balaji soap operas and very authentically interprets them in his film using our mundane nitpicks to his merit. Rarely do celebs indulge in self-satires and even if they do, it’s when they are down and out. It’s nervy of the Balaji team to spoof themselves when they are still live and kicking.

All said and done the film isn’t flawless and comes with its share of inconsistencies. This one could win an award for the ‘most abrupt and unwanted item numbers’ in Hindi films. Firstly Celina Jaitley lacks item appeal and from where in the world does she appear onscreen to dance with Tusshar Kapoor? They no more bother to even justify it as a dream sequence. Yawn! The soundtrack is a compilation of interrupting item number garbage. The editing is rather loose and some scenes go on and on even after the humour has ended.

From the cameos, Mahesh Bhatt is senselessly wasted as a talk show host without any purpose, parody or humour. Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor are used more reasonably though Ekta is awfully camera conscious. The horde of other television celebrities fail to recreate an Om Shanti Om kinda starry appeal which the background score attempts to suggest while playing the OSO title track.

From the cast, Anupam Kher and Rajpal Yadav have better comic timing and show more screen presence than Tusshar Kapoor. Tusshar isn’t bad but should strictly stay away from item numbers that are incorporated for visual appeal. Raima is redundant. Mithun Chakravarthy is enjoyable as long as he hams.

In the age of farcical humour, here comes a comedy that surprisingly isn’t straight-out slapstick but has some story attached to it. Don’t expect it to be immaculately intelligent and you could enjoy C Kkompany with its limited loopholes.

Because it is for me only serial mafiya Ekta Kapoor's MADNESS.
